Meet ORE Board members and Administrative Team
The Olds Regional Exhibition, formerly Olds Agricultural Society, is considered to be one of the essential pillar organizations in Olds Alberta. The dedicated volunteer Board members and our staff are committed to providing a valuable experience to assure that each event meets or exceeds ORE's quality expectations.

Meghan Black ~ Elected 2019
Meghan BlackMeghan originally hails from a small town in New Brunswick where their family operates a small cow/calf operation. Growing up, she was very involved within the 4-H program as well as a number of National Junior Associations. It's that involvement that led Meghan to Alberta in the summer of 2014 where she first began working for the Canadian Hereford Association. She is also proud to have worked for the Canadian Simmental Association and currently works for Bohrson Marketing Services.

Over the last three years Meghan worked in the Olds area and more recently has made east of town her homebase. She was always heavily involved in the community she grew up in, so becoming more active within the town of Olds and the Olds Regional Exhibition was something she certainly looked forward to.

The agriculture industry is where Meghan's heart lies. She looks forward to different agriculture events and junior shows that she can assist as an integral organizational member or volunteer. Meghan also is a member of the Bashaw Show Committee with a focus on the Canadian All Breeds Program.

Matthew Cadrin ~ Elected 2018

Curtis Flewelling ~ Elected 2001
Curtis FlewellingCurtis has worked in the Banking industry for over 20 years, and he has been with ATB Financial since 2004. Curtis's role with ATB is the Director, Business Development where works with the Business and Ag team to bring on new customers. Curtis loves the BD role because he gets to help people achieve their goals in business whether that is expansion, diversification or succession.

Curtis has been a Board Member at the ORE for nearly 20 years, and in many of those years, he has held an Executive Board Member position including President, Vice President or his current role, Director of Finance. Curtis is passionate about ORE and their continued commitment to enhance Youth, Community and Agriculture.

On a personal note, Curtis and his wife, Erin, have been married for 15 years and have two children, Nathan and Avery. Nathan is 13 and keeps busy with sports. His passion is playing Baseball. He is also an avid 4-H member and enjoys helping out on the family cattle farm. Avery is 11 and she loves swimming, trampoline gymnastics, and all things art. She is also an animal lover who enjoys caring for her pets. Erin loves curling and is happiest out in the sun cheering on her kids at their various events, or on the deck socializing with friends.

When not working, Curtis keeps busy with his cattle on the family farm, or at the ball diamond or hockey rink coaching kids. Curtis is also the Vice President of the Innisfail Minor Ball Association.

Gillian Grant ~ Elected 2018
Gillian GrantGillian Grant has been a director of the Olds Regional Exhibition board since 2018. She is passionate about embracing the western way of life through community and events, and how the Olds Regional Exhibition plays an integral part in our region.

Gillian currently serves as Rodeo Coordinator with C5 Rodeo Company where she has the privilege to work on various rodeos and exhibitions throughout the continent. Gillian also volunteers her time as an active member of the Miss Rodeo Canada Alumni and serves as Vice President on the Night at the Ranch Foundation.

Gillian and her husband Morgan live west of Didsbury where they run their grain and cattle operation, Diamond G Farm and Ranch. They are excited about their newest addition to their family, Lachlan, who is already become quite the ranch hand.

Kerrie Harvie ~ Elected 2014
Kerrie HarvieKerrie Harvie and her family live near Olds, AB on their family ranch, Harvie Crest Cattle Company. Along with her husband Scott and 3 children Chick, Gentry & Tel, they operate a purebred Simmental & Angus cattle operation dedicated to premier genetics being marketed globally.

As a family you will find the Harvies showing cattle, consigning to numerous sales including their annual bull sale at the ranch and will also participate in ranch rodeos and team roping events. Most importantly, Kerrie and her family are passionate about the agriculture industry, livestock production and are engaged community members.

Kerrie followed in her husband's footsteps and has served on the Olds Regional Exhibition board for six years and currently serves as the President. Kerrie has been a passionate and long serving volunteer at the Calgary Stampede for the past 15 years volunteering with the International Agriculture & Food Committee.

Ciara Mattheis ~ Elected 2012
Ciara MattheisCiara joined ORE in 2012 and is proud to serve as a director at large. She has a passion for livestock and sharing that passion with youth and others in the community. She is proud to serve with such a longstanding agricultural society and looks forward to many more years being a part of this great Regional Exhibition right in the community of Olds.

Ciara and her husband, along with their 2 young children, have a small ranch they are building from the ground up between Olds and Didsbury. They offer a large variety of equine services to the community and look forward to what the future holds for their ranching dreams. When Ciara isn't on the farm, she is at the office as manager of the Canadian Maine-Anjou Association or helping her kids pursue new passions through programs in their community.

Tim Matthews ~ Elected 2016
Tim MatthewsTim Matthews and his family moved their cattle ranch west of Calgary to the Olds area in 2004. Tim is the owner and operator of Riverstone Cattle Company, a purebred Angus, Limousin and Simmental livestock operation. Tim served many years as a volunteer board member for the Calgary Stampede Beef Cattle committee and is now involved and volunteers with the Olds Minor Hockey as part of the coaching team.

Olds Regional Exhibition has become integral part of the Matthews family and the Riverstone operation. For many years the Matthews have exhibited cattle at the many ORE evens and functions and the facility, hospitality and sense of community is second to none during these outstanding events. Riverstone also proudly hosts annual sales with the exhibition and finds the service and experience exceptional.

Tim is excited to be a part of such an inspiring and innovative group of volunteers and staff.

Craig Scott ~ Elected 2006 & 2015

Donna Smith ~ Elected 2006
Donna SmithDonna has invested decades into Olds Regional Exhibition as a volunteer that dates back to the mid-eighties as the Livestock Committee Secretary and a leader in one of the province's largest summer livestock shows. Her annual performance resulted in winning the Western Canadian Fairs award for Volunteer of the Year and Livestock Committee of the Year in the early '90s! This passion for livestock is evident today as Donna plays a very important role for programming including sponsorship, entry analysis, exhibitor packages, livestock office management and hospitality. Donna has instilled a sense of volunteerism in her family as it is the best way to contribute to growing and vibrant communities. This can best be showcased through her role as the Olds Farmer's Market Volunteer Market Manager for the last six years. Additionally, she is a Calgary Stampede Alumni Volunteer, an active member of the Harmattan Community Center and dedicated many years as a Leader, Assistant Leader and Volunteer of the Eagle 4-H Beef Club.

ORE dedicated the Commercial Kitchen in her honour and provided official naming as the Grandma Donna Kitchen which honors her tireless work at providing hospitality to thousands who visited the Cow Palace. Since 2006, many homemade meals were served out of the galley style kitchen and with the new business platform, ORE could elevate their guest experience and create new revenue generation. When Donna isn't working or volunteering, she enjoys her family business, Diamond T Cattle Co., celebrating over 50 years in the seedstock business. What lights her fire the most is spending time with family and being a very active great Grandma fondly referred to as our "Gigi".

Denise Rice ~ Joined 2003
Denise RiceDenise joined the ORE team in the spring of 2003. She has filled a few different roles in the office throughout the years. She is currently the Bookings Coordinator/Financial Controller. Denise and her husband Darryl, along with their children, Eli & Addy, live west of Olds in the Eagle Valley area.

Throughout the summer you will find the Rices around the province racing their horses on the chariot and chuckwagon circuit. They are the Youth Leaders at Garrington Community Church and enjoy working with young people. In their spare time, they enjoy horseback riding and spending time with family.

Allen "Buck" Thompson ~ Joined 2006
Allen (Buck) ThompsonBuck has been a facility operator with ORE since 2006.

He has been married to Renai since 1998 and have two kids that are headed off to college in 2021. Kolby will be attending SAIT and Clay, the U of A.

Buck comes from a varied agriculture background in farming, feedlot and welding shop.

He owns his own clipping and fitting business that he does in his off time.

Tracy Gardner ~ Joined 2009
Tracy GardnerTracy Gardner has been proud to serve as Business Development Manager for Olds Regional Exhibition (ORE) for the past nine years. Although from a fourth generation purebred and commercial seedstock operation west of Olds, her passion for event production has been significant through her volunteer commitments with Calgary Stampede, 4-H and a Board member on the Olds & District Chamber of Commerce.

Tracy has been especially proud of her leadership in the nine editions of Summer Synergy, one of Canada's largest youth livestock partnership programs awarding over $604,000 in scholarships to Canada's most talented rural youth. With all twelve Signature Events at ORE, Tracy is integrally involved in budgeting, financial reporting, marketing and promotions, volunteer engagement, sponsor procurement and event execution.

She is an advocate for community and industry collaboration, teamwork, results and relationship building.

In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends showing cattle, camping, photography and traveling!
