ORE is very proud of our traditional and prestigious livestock event production. Livestock shows including beef, dairy, sheep, light horse and draft horse have seen sustainability, momentum and even growth at a time when the exhibition industry has witnessed significant decline or elimination of primary agriculture showcases. ORE attributes this unique achievement to the commitment and dedication of volunteers who work tirelessly to assure each event's success. Gymkhana - November 2023 to April 2024
A fun, low keyed afternoon of horsing around with the family!

Gymkhana Practices run throughout the winter. The objective of this youth equine program is to compete and provide an accessible venue for new riders to learn the basics of riding including barrel racing, pole bending, thread the needle and many more.

Please follow us on Facebook to stay current on weather conditions that may force practices to be cancelled. ORE's policy is that we do not open buildings when temperatures feel like -20.

Drop In Riding - Wednesdays and Saturdays
ORE was happy to introduce Drop in Riding in 2023! Held at the Caluori Pavilion (5223 - 54th Street), riders can come each week on Wednesdays from 12 - 4 pm, and on Saturdays from 1 - 5 pm.

Starting November 4, 2023.

Fee is just $20 per horse and riders must sign in and pay before riding. Those under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult and wear a helmet. ($10 per additional horse same family)

Drop in Riding will be cancelled when temperatures are -20°C and below.

Spring Classic Steer & Heifer Show - April 21, 2024
ORE hosts the annual Olds "Spring Classic" Jackpot Steer & Heifer Show (traditionally) on the third weekend in April at the Olds Cow Palace.

The Spring Classic was introduced in 1999 to provide an opportunity for 4-H members, youth and open exhibitors to sharpen their showing skills and enjoy some friendly competition.

We are very excited to be hosting the 24th Edition of Olds Spring Classic in April 2024.

Farmer's Market - June 13 to September 26, 2024
Vendors offer unique items including sewing, knitting, baking, woodworking, fruits, vegetables, and numerous other items under the Cow Palace roof, grown to be one of the favourites in the area. Spring markets are held in the foyer of the Cow Palace, expanding to include the parking area surrounding the Cow Palace during the summer. Markets run from 3:30 - 6:30 pm on Thursdays.

Oldstoberfest - 5th Annual - September 13 & 14, 2024
Oldstoberfest is the world's first and only Bavarian Rodeo! Merging Bavarian culture with our western prairie heritage it is an atmosphere one must truly experience! Oldstoberfest takes place in Olds, Alberta, Canada. The event is held annually on the third weekend in September. Oldstoberfest is estimated to bring 8,000 visitors throughout the weekend. Our goals are to maximize economic impact, increase community engagement, and showcase the Town of Olds and the County of Mountain View.

Alberta BMX Indoor Winter Track
ORE has enjoyed a relationship with Alberta BMX to offer the MegaDome from November to April. This unique partnership encourages BMX riders of all ages and talents to gather in an indoor setting to learn, compete and teach the value of cycling and being active. These weekend events include coaching, open track and District Racing.
